Erath County officials reported three new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday, April 19 that was released the next morning. Three of the positive cases were within the city limits of Stephenville while the other was a rural resident of the county.

April 9 At 9:43 p.m. three cows were out on FM 1188 East when a vehicle struck and killed one, the others awaiting owner. April 10 At 2:19 p.m. power lines in trees on CR 368 sparked a grass fire. April 12 At 6:49 a.m.

April 12 A report was made for a dog bite on the 300 block of Cherrywine Caller reported a reckless driver all over the road way on Hwy 6. April 13 Caller reported that she hit a car in the apartment’s parking lot, no reported injuries, the caller just needed a report on Highland.

Dublin Intermediate announced several more students who reached million word milestones by reading a million words or more in accelerated reader books. Brayan Ortiz reached 1,036,349 with a 88% passing rate. Emily Barrera reached 1,038,982 with a 86% passing rate.

Tarleton biology students take conference awards

Tarleton State University biology students presented at two recent research conferences, earning four awards. Faith Cox, Matt Bristerpostma and Ashley Suris, among 168 participants, were honored at the Texas Branch American Society for Microbiology Spring 2021 Conference in New Braunfels.
