COVID Update

Erath County officials reported that the county had 22 active cases of COVID-19 in its Monday night report. This was down from 37 active cases reported by county officials on the Monday before.

MTGCD appoints interim manager

The Middle Trinity Groundwater unanimously voted to appoint Field Tech Johnny Wells as interim General Manager of the district during the regular October meeting. The sole exception was in the management of the Dictch outdoor learning classroom, which is to be handled by Stephanie Keith.

On June 18, 1918 one of the well known Canadian military biplanes flew into Dublin for a visit. It was a Curtis Jenny JN-4 biplane propelled by a 90 horsepower engine with the number 13 on the side. The pilots, Lieutenant A. M. Benneke and Lieutenant M. T.

First bar to open in Dublin since election

The Deer Lease, a Mingus-based full-service bar, will open its second location in Dublin in early January. The opening will mark the first bar within the city limits since Dublin voters overwhelmingly approved the local liquor option in a November 2020 election.

As part of the I-20 Texas Corridor Study, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is requesting public input through an online survey.

SHERIFF'S REPORT

October 16 At 2:33 p.m. a female black and white goat and a male tan and white goat were found on CR 475, awaiting owner. October 17 At 12:36 a.m. a control burn got out of hand on CR 487 and fully engulfed a trailer house, no injuries. At 9;50 a.m. a vehicle rolled over on FM 914, no injuries.

POLICE LOG

October 11 A caller reported two dogs left in the cab of the truck for awhile now behind Big’s. A reporting person advised he was walking his dog and another dog tried to attack him. October 12 Dublin PD was advised of two dogs running around the pavilion at the City Park.
