Why am I receiving A Medicare Part D late enrollment penalty?

Toni: I have received a notice from CMS (Medicare) saying they do not have record of me having prescription drug coverage that “met Medicare’s minimum standards from 8/1/2019 when I applied for Medicare Part A after turning 65 to 6/1/2022 and I may receive a Part D Late Enrollment Penalty.

Dublin Rotary Club on Thursday hosted a western barbecue cookout for high school students from throughout the region attending the annual RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Activity) camp at Tarleton. About 200 students, mostly incoming seniors, attended including two from Dublin.

DISD pay increases approved

Good news is on the horizon for Dublin ISD employees as several increases in pay were approved at the Monday, June 20 school board meeting. School board trustee Kent Crouch gave his resignation after serving eight years and two months on the board.

Elks to serve free dinner to Veterans

Stephenville Area Elks Lodge No. 2834 is serving a free dinner June 25 to the men and women who have served our country in the military. The veteran’s dinner will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1560 W. Hyman in Stephenville. Plates will include pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans and coleslaw.

DVFD combats continued fires

As drought conditions continue, fires continue to be a problem in the area. On Monday, June 20 into the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 21, Dublin Volunteer Fire Department responded to five fires between 3:14 p.m. and 2:17 a.m.

Shooters among indicted

Two suspects from shootings are headed to trial after being named among the indictments decided by the Erath County Grand Jury on June 15. Jose Manuel DeLeon, 60, was indicted for murder, a first-degree felony. Deleon was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred just after 8 p.
