Home Run Derby to hit DHS diamond

Lions fans can pitch in to the program while having fun during the March 18 Dublin Lions Home Run Derby benefitting the Dublin Lion baseball and softball teams. The swinging competition will be held at the Dublin High School Baseball Field from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

DISD approves contracts

Contracts for teachers and other non-administrative employees were unanimously approved in a brief Dublin ISD school board meeting Monday, Feb. 20.

ISD race now on, council off

With regular filing closed for local elections in both school board and city council, there will only be a race for school board. Three candidates have filed for two positions on the Dublin ISD School board: incumbents Blanca Martineau and Bill Rodriguez and challenger Ryan Mitchell.

County, state jobs grow in 2022

Erath County followed a statewide trend last year as unemployment rates fell from the year before. Examining monthly statistics from the Texas Workforce Commission, Erath County’s unemployment rate averaged 3.38% in 2022 compared to 4.48% in 2021.

Sales tax up for December

Dublin sales tax collections were up substantially in December, at 10.04% higher compared to December 2021, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. For the month of December 2022, Dublin received $65,246.59 compared to $59,291.
