Sales tax drops in December

Dublin sales tax collections were down in December 2023 at 7.5% lower compared to December 2022, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. For the month of December 2023, Dublin received $60,315.08, compared to $65,246.59 in December 2022.

Feb. 5 A reporting person came into the station to report the neighbor’s dog was severely malnourished. Call was referred to animal control. There was a report of a reckless driver that tried to cut off the reporting person and went onto the sidewalk in Deleon.

The annual Dublin Eggstravaganza planning is underway and the committee is seeking donations of candy, filled eggs and monetary donations. This year’s event will be sponsored by Dublin Dairy Queen, The Dublin Citizen and the Stephenville Area Elk’s Lodge. The event is set for 9-11 a.m.
