FFA Homesite team places 10th in State

The Dublin FFA Homesite team (left) of Daniel Staud (Alternate), Jackie Gibson, Paige Wilson, Nomi Thompson, David Hernandez placed 10th out of 61 teams in the state competition held at Tarleton last week. This finish is 12 places better than the Dublin FFA Homesite team last year.

Citizen brings home 13 awards in regional contest

The Dublin Citizen team took home 13 awards in the North and East Texas Press Association Better Newspaper Contest. Awards were announced Saturday, April 27 in Granbury to conclude NETPA’s 97th annual convention.

Elizabeth Reed, Ryan DiCiccio and Makayla Facio competed at the Region UIL Academic meet in Abilene Saturday. Ryan and Lizzie advanced to finals where Ryan placed 8th in Prose and Lizzie placed 2nd in Poetry, earning a spot to compete at the State UIL Academic meet in Austin, May 13-15. The Dublin Theatre Department will do a final public performance of its UIL One Act Play at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 6 and each of these students will also perform the pieces they competed with. In 1996, members of the Stephenville’s Community Support Group for MS were asked by the Lone Star Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society if they wanted to host a traditional walk event for a fundraiser. One member of the group replied “This is cowboy country; we don’t walk, we ride.
