Freedom Fest set for Saturday

An abundance of red, white and blue will be on display this weekend with Dublin’s Freedom Fest, organized by the nonprofit Revitalize Dublin.The event will serve as a lead-up event to July’s America 250 Celebration.Freedom Fest, which is free to everyone, will kick off at 11 a.m.

Citizen earns state press awards

The Dublin Citizen is one of the best small weekly newspapers in the state after earning multiple awards at the Texas Press Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest.Awards were presented at the annual TPA Convention and Trade show held June 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport Hotel.
The Dublin Lions traveled to the state lineman challenge competition in Abilene Saturday, June 20 and placed 11th in the 3A division, earning points for placing in the farmer’s walk, worm carry and flipsled flip. Coach John Ward expressed his pride of the team and coaches Andrew Norwood and Jedidiah Vaughn. “Everyone competed well and represented Dublin Lions as true champions,” said Ward. “We got better! City says no to new appraisal building

The Dublin City Council voted to disapprove the purchase of property by the Erath County Appraisal District and the fiscal year 2027 budget in a special meeting Monday, June 22. Since then the appraisal district has decided not to move forward with the purchase of the building.
