765KV Powerline meeting set July 20

A public meeting regarding the proposed 765 KV transmission line will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 20 at Erath County Annex III, located at 222 East College Street in Stephenville.The meeting will include updates, how to make your voice be heard and what actions can be taken will be discussed.

Fireworks illegal in city limits

Just a reminder, though Erath County is not in a burn ban, fireworks are illegal to discharge both inside Dublin and Stephenville city limits.Violations may result in citations, fines or criminal charges.

Rabies reported in Erath County

The Erath County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Texas Department of Health of a positive rabies exposure in the area of County Road 230.Several puppies were located near the Erath/Hood county line which were moved to an address near County Road 230 prior to testing positive.

A wide variety of vendors were on hand for the June 20 Dublin Market Days under the pavilion at the City Park. The market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the third Saturday of each month.

Granville N. Young (Pee Wee) was born on June 20, 1926 in Odessa and recently celebrated his 100th birthday!After graduating high school, he became a firefighter for the city of Odessa.During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy and traveled across the Pacific six times on an aircraft carrier.
