Lampasas County petrophysical engineer Gary W. Franklin has filed to run for the newly-drawn Texas House District 68 seat. The district covers the counties of Brown, Lampasas, San Saba, Mills, Comanche, Eastland, Shackelford, Young, Jack, Cooke, Throckmorton and Montague. Franklin claims ties to all of the counties, saying he has lived or worked in the oil and gas industry in all of them. The Brown County native is also a Texas A&M University graduate and US. Army veteran.
SureGrow, along with partners, BASF, Nufarm and Miller Chemical & Fertilizer, provided meals for Comanche County Medical Center professionals, EMS, volunteer firefighters and law enforcement for Christmas. Meal were prepared by Swig’s BBQ and Catering.

Gayle Edwards was spotlighted for her business, Gypsy Greens, at the farmers market. Edwards grows her microgreens at her home office, planting and harvesting them within 10 to 14 days.
Hamilton Jr. High boasted three basketball teams that were unbeaten before the Christmas break: the 8th grade Lady Bulldogs (who were 8-0), the 8th grade Bulldogs (who were 4-0) and the jr. high combo boys teams (who were 4-0).
