When Jim Leatherwood’s grandfather came to Dublin in 1915, he went to work for the Dublin National Bank. He worked his way up to chairman, and eventually bought a bank himself in Gustine.

Sleigh rides, hayrides and jingle-bells add nostalgia to the Christmas season. I’ve never had the opportunity to ride in horse drawn sleighs but have climbed aboard hay covered wagons. My first hay ride was organized by a Wesleyan Methodist Church in Manlius Center, New York.

As the year winds down and we hop into 2025, the Dublin Public Library is encouraging people to embrace reading as a New Year’s Resolution, and is continuing programs associated with mindfulness.The library currently offers two book clubs open to adults of all ages and genders.

Blessings, loss in 2024

As we are reflecting on 2024, I can safely say that our year had more ups and downs than a roller coaster.A few days after the new year, my Mom fell and broke her hip which kickstarted a series of health concerns, a surgery and a couple of hospital visits.
