Corn Turn-Row Meeting This year the local corn crop looks to be one of the best we have had. April and May have given us good moisture and cool nights, ideal for corn growth. Corn silage is a big crop in Comanche and surrounding counties with several thousand acres grown every year.

Museum Matters

In 1900 there was a population boom in Dublin and the surrounding area. There was also a boom in Purvis where housing was scarce. It was during this time that Mattie Stephen built a 22 room hotel. It housed travelers and permanent occupants. Mattie Stephen owned and operated it for many years.
