The Lingleville ISD School Board approved to renew all administrator contracts following a closed session in their regular meeting Feb. 8.

The board unanimously approved several matters up for discussion including: attendance waivers due to the recent excess of illnesses, a resolution regarding wage payment during emergency school closings, the annual audit (in which Jeremy Shell gave the highest opinion of the school being in good standing), the Texas Academic Performance Report, the district improvement plan, the LISD school-parent compact and the LISD Parent and Family Engagement Policy.

LISD superintendent DeeCee McDougal reported enrollment was 275 and attendance was 95.4% at the time of the meeting. “We’re glad the illness is in decline and was are getting everyone back,” McDougal said referencing the large amount of illnesses that resulted in the closure of the school for several days last month.

The school board unanimously denied the approval of chaplains in the roles of counselors and mental health support regarding SB763.
