The Lingleville Cardinals broke a 12-game losing streak Friday, Sept. 18 when they traveled to Walnut Springs and snatched a 46-0 victory over the Hornets under the mercy rule.
The win carries on the momentum from the previous week’s home game as they only lost by one point to Kopperl and finished the game close to the endzone.
Head football coach Jim Bays said his defense was on point against the Hornets only allowing two first downs. Klayson Guajardo, Giovanni Martinez and Jacob Koke all scored rushing TDs while Simon Dominguez threw a pass to Hudson Guajardo who brought it over the goal line. Martinez also nabbed an interception late in the second quarter so the Cards could score the game winner.
