The Sound Of Dublin is inviting everyone to travel to Mineral Wells Saturday, Oct. 14 as they compete at Regionals at 3 p.m.

“Come on out and watch,” said Dublin ISD band director Ronny Luedke. “The kids have worked really hard and love seeing people in the stands.”

Luedke also added the forecast is nice and the solar eclipse should make for a memorable atmosphere.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Mineral Wells will be hosting bands all day in competition. Audience members must be seated prior to performances as the bleachers are roped off during performances.

This year, Dublin is performing “The Hidden Cathedral” featuring selections from “The Witch and the Saint” and “Come ThouFontof EveryBlessing.” Although they have been working on the routine this season, they have been refining it as they went along.

Luedke reported they took comments from the Harry Bradberry Marching Classic Sept. 30 where they earned a Division 1 rating (the highest possible) and Friday night’s performance to make a few changes this week.

Luedke said the refinements help keep everybody’s “mind sharp.”

Luedke said the routine has been a bit more challenging than he expected because it on a different timing than most routines (3/4 time signature) and a middle section that drops percussion which puts more focus on the band members’ movements.

Even with these challenges, Luedke said the members seem to enjoy the routine.

“We’re not tired of it yet,” he said, adding he appreciates the lyrical, smooth flow of it.

If Dublin advances Saturday, they will perform Saturday, Oct. 28 in Denton at Area.
