Wanona L. (Gilbreath) Stevens, 81, went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 16, 1940, in Dublin, Texas to her parents Oran Gilbreath and Wilma (Gibson) Gilbreath Woods. Wanona graduated from Dublin High School in 1959 and began her college degree at Howard Payne University shorty after high school. She went on to pursue a career at Carters Blood Bank and then on to working for a few insurance companies in San Antonio, Texas. Wanona married her husband, Jack Stevens, on December 28, 1962, and together they adopted one daughter, Kimberly Kay (Stevens) Brown, in 1970. She was affiliated with Edna Hill Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Oran Gilbreath in 1967 and Wilma (Gibson) Gilbreath Woods in 1999.
Wanona is survived by her husband Jack Stevens of San Antonio, Texas, her daughter Kimberly K. (Stevens) Brown, her grandchildren Michael Stevens, James Trobaugh, and Geoffrey Trobaugh of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Graveside Service will be held at Barbee Cemetery on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 1 p.m.
