It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Trent Boies, 62. A beloved soul who peacefully departed from this earth on Oct. 4, 2023. Born Dec. 2, 1962, in Tulia, Texas. Jeffrey’s life journey led him to Walnut Springs, Texas, where he built a life filled with love, dedication, and unwavering strength.

Jeffrey was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Johnna Jan Boies, and a pillar of support to his cherished son, Joseph Trent Boies.

Jeffrey’s biggest pride was the recent arrival of his grandson, Elliott Trent Boies, who brought boundless joy to his heart.

A man of remarkable character, Jeffrey will be remembered for his boundless generosity, tireless work ethic, and stoic nature. He selflessly devoted himself to the wellbeing and happiness of his family, always placing their needs above his own. In the face of life’s challenges, he remained a beacon of optimism and resilience, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his educational pursuits, Jeffrey played golf at both Texas State University and the University of Houston. His passion for golf extended beyond his college years, as he went on to become an instructor and shop pro at Del Lago Golf Course in Conroe, Texas. He also worked in the verification department at Piney Shores Resort in Conroe and held various positions at Briggs Ranch Resort in San Antonio. Additionally, Jeffrey dedicated many years to working the night shift at St. Gobain.

Outside of his career, Jeffrey had a deep love for golf. He enjoyed playing the sport, watching the PGA Tour, and engaging in friendly competitions of pitching washers. He also cherished moments of relaxation, where he would kick back and ponder life’s curiosities.

Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Brenda Rothwell, of Arkansas, his wife, Johnna Jan Boies of Glen Rose, his son, Joseph Trent Boies, and his grandson, Elliott Trent Boies both of Stephenville.

Services were held at the Barbee Chapel in Erath County, Texas Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, followed by interment at the Barbee Cemetery.
