Dorothy Charlene (Pack) Sharp

SHARP Dorothy Charlene (Pack) Sharp, 94, of Stephenville went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2023.

Funeral services for Charlene will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville, Texas. Patrick Wimberly will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lower Greens Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Valley Grove Baptist Church.

Charlene was born on August 22, 1928 in Huckaby, Texas to Robert E. and Myrtle (Stone) Pack. The only girl among six children, she was constantly surrounded by five rambunctious brothers who were always there to protect and dote on her.

On June 5, 1949 she married Billie Wayne Sharp in Dublin, Texas. Their life together brought them four children, moved them to New Mexico and back in addition to traveling to beautiful places across the world, including Indonesia, Germany, Seattle, Alaska and Branson.

A member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, she had a great love for the Lord, her family, her church, friends and anyone she came across who she could help. Charlene had the gift of service and was always using it to honor Christ. Whether she was curled up with her grandkids eating popcorn and watching home movies and slides, or leaving early Sunday mornings with Bill to help those in need attend Sunday church services, or in recent years walking the halls in assisted living and greeting and cheering up anyone she could find, Charlene was always seeking out what she could do for others.

Her family and friends will forever miss her smile, her laughter, her strength, her empathy, her warmth, her caring and her hugs. Those lessons she taught through the examples she set, however, will be carried on through all of the lives she touched.

Charlene is survived by her four children: Gwen Armstrong and husband Tom of Granbury, Texas; Wayne Sharp and wife Putu of Lampasas, Texas; Brenda Wimberly and husband Mark of Kingwood, Texas; Mickial Sharp and wife Beth of Grapevine, Texas.

Charlene had 11 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren and 12 great-greatgrandchildren.

She is survived by one brother, Arthur (Nubbin) Pack and wife Beverly, sister-in-law’s Wanda Pack and Sue Pack and many nieces and nephews whom she adored…and “my favorite” – and you know who you are!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Wayne Sharp, her parents, Robert and Myrtle Pack, and brothers Carroll Pack, Leon Pack, Thomas Pack and Lewis Pack, sister-in-law’s Shirley Pack and Virgie Pack.
