Rebecca Gail (Becky) Norris gently and peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus on Aug. 10, 2023. Becky was born on Jan. 9, 1956 to Rev. Charles (Bob) and Shirley Perrin in Cameron, Texas.

Becky and her brother Mark were PKs and moved with their parents to various pastorates around Texas. She graduated as salutatorian of her Dublin High School class in 1974 and entered studies at Tarleton State University.

During the summer of 1975 she met up with her future husband Larry, an Aggie, who was taking summer classes at Tarleton. Their romance blossomed quickly and they married on Jan. 10, 1976 in Dublin. Becky continued her studies at Texas A&M until Larry graduated and received his commission as a 2nd Lt in the U.S. Army and their life of adventures together really began. They were stationed in Darmstadt, Germany; Ft. Belvoir, Virginia; Ft. Hood, Texas; Ft Polk, Louisiana and finally Apple Valley, Minnesota, where Larry served as ROTC professor at the University of Minnesota.

In 2001 they pulled up stakes in Minnesota after 16 years and returned to Dublin to be closer to family. During these years, they raised two wonderful children: Valerie Gail born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1978 and Charles Alan (Charlie) born in 1982 at Ft. Hood.

Becky was a multitalented woman as shown by her ability to raise two children, manage the household and hold a number of wide ranging jobs outside the family while Larry was absent frequently with his Army duties. Her jobs varied from orthopedic transcriptionist, elementary school volunteer coordinator, administrative assistant at several major hospitals and finally as an administrative assistant in the College of Business Administration at Tarleton State University. She excelled wherever she was and was known as a hard working woman with integrity, loyalty and a caring, loving heart. She was particularly proud of her time serving a term as mayor of Dublin. Becky retired from Tarleton in 2021 and devoted her time to her family, beautifying her house and flower beds and being Nana to Benjamin.

Anyone who knew Becky for any time at all can attest to her kind, generous and loving nature. She always saw the good in people and always went out of her way to encourage and mother those who needed it. She was a woman of extreme courage and faith who fought through many physical issues in her life yet invariably came out with determination in her heart and a smile on her face. She was an extremely talented pianist and demonstrated her musical gifts throughout her life at church, home and special occasions. Becky had an unfaltering faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and is today resting in His strong and loving arms. Larry and Becky have been privileged to be part of Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin.

Becky was preceded in death by her son Charlie and her father Bob.

She is survived by her husband Larry of Dublin; daughter Valerie and husband James Yuhas and granddog Toby of Selma, Texas; grandson Benjamin Norris and daughter-inlaw Samantha Smith Norris of Granbury, Texas; mother Shirley Perrin of Stephenville, Texas; brother Mark and wife Teresa Perrin of Overland Park, Kansas, and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services for Becky were held Wednesday, Aug. 16 with a private burial at Dublin Live Oak Cemetery and a public memorial service at Double N Cowboy Church of Dublin. Services were conducted by Jimmy Holleman, Pastor of Double N Cowboy Church.
