Barbara Gail Spurger Hudson June 7, 1951 – November 18, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Hudson, born on June 7, 1951, in Tom Green County, Texas, to Henry Duane and Fayrene (Kubena) Spurger. Barbara departed from this world on November 18, 2023.

Barbara cherished her family above all else, and her love for them was the light of her life. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she created a warm and loving home that will be remembered by those fortunate enough to have been part of her life.

A proud and long-term resident of Somervell County, Barbara dedicated 24 years of her life in service to the community. Her unwavering commitment was evident, particularly in her role as the County Treasurer during the last several years of her career. Barbara’s contributions to the county were marked by integrity, diligence, and a deep sense of responsibility.

In the quiet moments she cherished, Barbara found joy in a simple cup of morning coffee, and walking through her flower beds. Her love for nature bloomed in the meticulously tended flower beds that adorned her surroundings, a testament to her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Barbara’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and the beauty she cultivated in the world around her.

Barbara is survived by her siblings Lyle Spurger of Proctor, Jo Spurger of Glen Rose, and Matt Spurger of Gustine; children Ronda and Mark Owen of Marble Falls, Michael and Stacey Hudson of Granbury, and Robin Hudson of Hudson Oaks; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Hudson; two children, Rhett Thiebaud and Cole Thiebaud; her parents Henry and Fayrene Spurger; and two siblings, Duane Spurger and Brian Spurger.
