Rodeo Museum lunch pulls support

Body

The Rodeo Heritage Museum held its 4th annual Pulled Pork Drive Thru Lunch on Friday June 23rd.

I want to shine a spotlight on those volunteers that can always be counted on.

Mary Horn Wood is always present almost every day. She is the treasurer, secretary and assistant manager at the office of the Rodeo Heritage Museum.

She helps get ready for all the fundraisers and is a top hand at the Rodeo Heritage Museum. She sells tickets, makes phone calls, helps organize and gives tours when needed. For the Pulled Pork Lunch, she sold tickets, made 3 batches of macaroni salad and served on the food line.

Stanley Anderson is another top hand that can sell the heck out of tickets. He volunteers every Tuesday as a tour guide. If something needs to be done, he is there to help.

He recently helped to extend our branding iron wall and will be helping extend our walk to get ready for our 20th Anniversary on September 2nd.

He is the friendly face you see out delivering Shamrocks or Pulled Pork lunches for the Rodeo Heritage Museum.

During the Pulled Pork Lunch Project Stanley brought in meat cookers and coolers for ice, then picked up ice and tea for the day. He and Johnny Miller then delivered several lunches that day. Johnny Miller is also a dedicated helper. Most every time we need extra help he is there to assist.

Deanna Turley is another volunteer that makes the Pulled Pork Drive Thru Lunch a success. She provides buns and bakes over 300 delicious little cakes for our desert. This is her 4th year to help the Rodeo Heritage Museum and this year she brought her daughter Madison with her. Both were greatly appreciated. Deanna took orders from the back door and Madison made tea glasses.

Another volunteer, Joy Evenson was a great help in planning, making phone calls, setting up the back room and cooking 3 batches of macaroni salad. She also made a trip to pick up the pulled pork, worked on the food line and delivered lunches.

Tina Fincannon cooked 2 batches of macaroni salad. Thanks, Tina, for taking your time to help the Rodeo Heritage Museum. You are greatly appreciated.

Marion Surles and Terry Ullstrom were also greatly appreciated volunteers that served on the lunch line for the day.

Shannon & Vickie from the Dairy Queen came through for us in flying colors. Shannon boxed and bagged lunches and Vickie helped with getting the tea glasses out. Thank you, guys for helping the Rodeo Heritage Museum.

A big thanks to the businesses that donated products for the Pull Pork Lunch Drive Thru. Dublin Dairy Queen donated Styrofoam trays, 4 oz. cups for beans and condiments for the sandwiches. Golden Chick donated tea and cups. Double N Cowboy Church cooked and donated beans. Thank you for your helping hand.

Many thanks go out to businesses that bought lunches for their employees and the many individuals that participated this year.

What’s the old saying? It takes a village to raise a child. This child has grown through the last twenty years thanks to you. We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary on September 2. Come join and celebrate with us.
