Martineau seeks to keep appointed seat
Incumbent Dublin ISD school board member Blanca Martineau is seeking re-election for a simple reason: she cares about the children in the district and wants to make a difference in their lives.
“I would like them to be prepared to move forward to the next level of academic institutions such as college, university, military service or any other worthy cause. I would like to be a voice for the parents in our District so they know they are being heard and that they are represented and I would like teachers to feel supported and protected, and I want them to know that their safety while they are teaching at our schools and caring for our children is a top priority,” she said.
Martineau has been on the school board since she was appointed to a vacated seat in June 2022.
Since has been on the board, she is proud to have been a part of extensive safety measures for all campuses put in place to ensure children’s safety.
“We are working hard to develop tools and programs that will entice quality teachers to come to DISD while retaining the outstanding teachers we already have,” she said. “We have a beautiful campus and welcome many schools and people to Dublin for district, up to regional, competitions.”
Since she has been on the board the biggest surprise has been how much each and every school board trustee cares for the children of the district and how knowledgeable they are about policies, procedures, safety, budget, teacher education and overall district growth.
If elected to the position, Martineau wants the Hispanic population to know they are being represented.
“As our School district shows such cultural diversity—over 60% of the students in our district are from Hispanic descent and myself being a living example of the American Dream— I would love everyone in our community to know that they are represented, both American and Latin American. I will do everything in my power to help them understand and take advantage to the opportunities the district is creating for all children here in Dublin,” she said.
Professionally, Martineau is the business development manager for Comanche County Medical Center.
Civically, she is president of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, an active Dublin Rotary Club member and on the Dublin Historical Society.
On a personal level, Martineau and her husband Wyatt have been married for 35 years and have four successful adult children.
“Our youngest daughter currently is serving as a missionary in Ecuador. In addition to my four children, I have 10 beautiful grandchildren,” she said.
