The Dublin Economic Development Corporation is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director after Brad Stanford submitted his resignation during the April EDC meeting.

Stanford reported he loves the work and working with the board, whom he said have “made really good decisions for Dublin.”

Stanford actually credits his decision to leave to a large amount of growth he’s seen in Dublin recently, stating that it’s easy to sell buildings when they come available and the opening of five businesses are set to open on May 27 (as well as the re-opening of Little Authors at its new location).

“We’re in the champagne fountain,” Stanford said, noting that the Metroplex is one of the fastest growing areas in Texas. “People are spilling out of DFW so everybody’s shifting around and moving down 377. We’re seeing growth already.”

With this amount of growth, Stanford said his position needs someone that is a “master negotiator” with the intuition to meet a stranger and read what they need and understand how Dublin can help them achieve it.

Stanford said his consistent work of programming and accounts have trained him to develop lasting relationships that build over time and the EDC needs someone who can respond more quickly. Stanford will be returning to his work in programming and continue to be a cheerleader for Dublin.

Stanford said the EDC is looking to hopefully find someone with Chamber of Commerce and EDC experience or ‘anything that touches the sphere.’

The job posting describes the position as the Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Provides the ultimate administrative and management function to the organization. The main duty of the Executive Director is to execute the decisions of the Board of Directors.
