Dear Editor:

During the ‘make America great’ campaign, Mr. Obama asked an interesting question- “When was America great?”

Now I am not a fan of Mr. Obama and did not vote for him. Some people may have wondered where he got the idea that America was not great. He may have gotten it from the Bible.

Isaiah 40-17 says this: “All nations before Him are nothing, and they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless.”

Isaiah 40-15 says “Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the scales.”

God is concerned most of all about individuals. He wants individuals to be saved from sin and spend eternity with Him.

God’s negative attitude towards nations could be because the nations exalt themselves and claim to be the greatest. Ancient Rome may have thought it was the greatest name of all time, just as people today think the same about the United States.

I am thankful for the United States and appreciate God letting me be born here. Somehow I can’t find find anything great about killing babies before they can be born.

I sometimes wonder what would happen in america if we boasted about Jesus Christ the way we boast about the United States.

What is Christians openly said in the public square that Jesus Christ is the greatest man that ever lived and shed His blood for us on the cross of Calvary.

What if we boasted that He rose from the dead and is coming to the earth?

What if Democrats and Republicans who are on television every day boasted that Jesus Christ is greater than all of the other nations put together?

What if they boasted that Jesus Christ alone will ever establish lasting world peace?

It would rob Jesus Christ of the glory of establishing lasting world peace if Democrats and Republicans were to do it first. They won’t! He will!

What if we as Christians boasted that Jesus Christ is the only refuge? Modern politics will fail unless we repent and believe in Him.
