Vendors are being sought as Erath County celebrates its rich Hispanic Heritage in two annual festivals set for Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 in Stephenville and Dublin.
Stephenville
The first will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 p.m. - 10 a.m. as the Knights of Columbus moves last year’s successful event at St. Mary’s to Stephenville City Park.
The event promises food, live music, cultural performances, artisan booths and more including the 5th annual Lights Out youth boxing tournament hosted by the Stephenville boxing club and sanctioned by USA Boxing.
“We are excited for this year’s event and have added an adult softball tournament to the agenda,” said Sandra Espinosa, one of the event’s organizers. “We are planning a full day of activities for all types of cultures and ages.”
Vendor registration is open and space is limited so people are encouraged to register early at: https://pci.jotform.com/ form/261479131265054 Proceeds from the event will benefit local nonprofit organizations.
Dublin
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce will host the ‘Original Hispanic Heritage Festival’ Saturday, Sept. 19 all day until 10 p.m. at the Dublin City Park.
Vendor registration forms can be found at dublintxchamber.com with those joining in the fun encouraged to register early.
The festivities will begin early with a lowrider, car and motorcycle show from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. The event is also bringing together vendors and food trucks, kids games and bounce houses and more. A salsa contest will turn up the heat as chefs vie for cash prizes and bragging rights.
The celebration will keep the tempo up with live music from Los Yepez, Sol De La Cumbia, Thalia and Gallo Mendoza.
The free cabalgata ‘trail ride’ will bring in many more people and horses as the group disembarks from the Nozy Nabor Park (14955 N. FM219) at 2 p.m. and travels the eight miles to Dublin City Park.
“We are so grateful for the continued support of our amazing community,” said Dublin Chamber of Commerce president Nancy Williams. “Thank you for helping us celebrate the rich culture, traditions, and contributions of our Hispanic community. We look forward to seeing everyone again this year and celebrating together!”
