Community Invited to New World Screwworm Informational Meeting – July 23 in Stephenville Ranchers, livestock owners, veterinarians, wildlife managers, and the general public are invited to a New World Screwworm Informational Meeting on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the SISD Bond Auditorium, 2655 W. Overhill Drive, Stephenville, TX. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. If you did not register, you are still welcome to attend.
The meeting will share the latest updates on New World screwworm, current response efforts, and steps producers can take to protect their livestock. Topics include situational updates, preparedness, and livestock movement/ marketing considerations. Attendees will hear from subject-matter experts and may ask questions. Two TDA CEUs will be available for eligible participants.
The event is hosted by Erath County AgriLife Extension, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas Farm Bureau, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Erath County, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and the Texas Animal Health Commission.
