Revitalize Dublin's Freedom Fest kicked off Dublin’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday Saturday, June 27 at the City Park with a bike parade, pet contest, vendors and more. Revitalize Dublin reported a great turnout and time at the inaugural Freedom Fest. There were 16 participants in the bike and scooter parade with winners including Sawyer, Mason and Everett with special recognition going to Erica and Emmett. The pet parade drew one adorable participant but Ruby is a clear winner no matter the competition. Chalk Art Contest Winners included ages birth to 5 Taylie and Mauzie, ages 6-10 Sawyer, ages 11-17 Faye, adult division Brandi and special recognition went to Jane. The Fourth of July 4th Starter Kit Raffle Winner was Savannah. RD thanked TexasBank for partnering with them for the free swim day which drew 225 swimmers by the last count for laughter and endless games of Marco Polo. They also thanked Bradberry’s Best and Croell Concrete for sponsoring the water slide bounce houses which stayed busy all day. “This wasn’t about politics,” said RD Vice President Lori Beggs. “It wasn’t about a political party. It was about appreciating the freedoms we enjoy every day—the freedom to spend a Saturday with our families, to gather with neighbors, to chase our dreams, and to build a stronger community together.”
