How to Get More Peace

Body

How can you have more peace?

The answer is always in the Word of God.

First, choosing to trust God--Who gives us every breath, and the faculties to do any good thing--is the foundation. He loves us with an everlasting Love, and chose us before He created the world, to be His family, so He could pour out His love on us!

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: - Eph. 1:4, KJV Hallelujah! Daily, searching the Scriptures and meditating (thinking about and speaking over and over) the verses the LORD shows you about peace will help wash your mind of the mud of wrong thinking, and help settle your soul (mind/will/ emotions), for the Word of God is alive!

For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Heb. 4:12, AMP Do a topic search on “peace,” and you’ll find hundreds of Scriptures to learn and apply!

There are many excellent passages in the Bible to give you specific instructions on how to have more peace. Today, I rediscovered that 1 and 2 Peter are excellent places to start, and following the instructions in just the first chapters of both books can keep you busy for years, and truly, the rest of your life, to acquire and keep much more peace!

2 Peter chapter 1 lists several qualities and actions that, if we seek to do and have them, to operate in them, will bring you more peace. After that list, there is an assurance of forms of peace, in verses 8 and 10: For as these qualities are yours and are increasing [in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity], they will keep you from being useless and unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ. - 2 Peter 1:8 So, as we purpose to cultivate the qualities listed in the verses before this, we will obviously grow in various ways, to the glory of God--and can actually come to a place where we are never perfect, but life a life of great, continual peace!

Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you [be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God]; for by doing these things [actively developing these virtues], you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth and will live a life that leads others away from sin]; 2 Peter 1:10 Hallelujah! Having come to a place in life where--after decades of strife and all kinds of other negative emotions and trials--I now enjoy tremendous peace and joy (read: REST within and without!), I can say that, doing these things have definitely worked for meby the help and grace of the LORD, and the wonderful true loving cooperation of my dear covenant husband.

Also, the spiritual covering one is under; the church one attends and/or is a part of, can greatly affect the peace one experiences.

The most important thing is to continue to seek the LORD in His Word, in worship, in prayer, and church fellowship with other Bible believers, and to be open to continual change, whileremembering that, no matter what, God loves you, sees you as precious and blameless through the Blood of Christ that covers you (from the moment you received Him as Savior and LORD, and have allowed Him to start showing you what to change in your life to become more like Him), and is with you always.

He never changes, and is with you forever to help you enjoy peace on earth as much as possible!
