The Adventure Continues
Erath County Master Gardeners (ECMG) has set the date for its next Adventures in Gardening class. Saturday, January 25, certified master gardener Ken Stokes will conduct a class on growing vegetables. Ken is one of the first master gardeners certified in Erath County and has been growing vegetables in Erath County for more than 25 years.
In this class, Ken will offer expert advice on such topics as:
■ Choosing a garden location
■ Planning what to plant and when
■ Preparing the soil
■ Planting
■ Watering
■ Controlling weeds and pests
■ Harvesting
According to ECMG board president Donna DeCross, “As with all our classes, the course material is based on field-proven gardening practices developed by researchers at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Our handouts, including the AgriLife Texas Home Vegetable Gardening Guide, reinforce the course material and provide a reference for attendees when they start their gardening projects.”
