As the year winds down and we hop into 2025, the Dublin Public Library is encouraging people to embrace reading as a New Year’s Resolution, and is continuing programs associated with mindfulness.

The library currently offers two book clubs open to adults of all ages and genders.

The Crimes and Clues book club is geared to those who enjoy reading true crime and horror novels. They typically meet the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the library.

The Saturday Book Club is geared toward those who enjoy reading a wide variety of materials and New York Times Bestsellers are often included. They meet the last Saturday of each month at 1 p.m.

Books are available to check out through the library for the book clubs.

Crimes and Clues will be meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 to discuss ‘Starter Villain’ by John Scalzi. Saturday Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 to discuss Inheritance by Nora Roberts.

Upcoming events at the library include a sensory safe hour from 9-10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27. This time is reserved for those with sensory needs. Lights will be dimmed and patrons are asked to respect that this time be focused on families who are unable to attend during regular hours.
