Summer Reading Club is winding down and the final day to turn in reading logs is Friday, July 19. Those who read at least 10 picture books or one chapter book are eligible for prizes at the library’s book fair and for other prizes including a Nintendo Switch, AirPods and much more!
There will be two more Grab N’ Go crafts - this week is Backyard Bugs and next week is Dragon’s vs. Unicorns.
At 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11 Annie’s Therapeutic Companions will host an Erath County Working Dogs event.
“Come meet and learn about our friends, including us!! We’re honored and excited to have a day with three Erath County Working Dogs and their handlers at the library,” Lyndi Hannah with Annie’s said. Working dog teams include: Officer Stone and partner-Narcotic Detection K9 Rollo. They work with the Stephenville Police Department, work in the City of Stephenville and reside in Erath. Battalion Chief/Fire Investigator John Tadlock and partner-Arson K9 Edison. They work at the Saginaw Fire Department, work in eight counties and reside in Erath. Lyndi Hanna and partner-Certified Therapy Dog Hank. They work with Annie’s Therapeutic Companions, work in five counties and reside in Erath.
A magic show will also be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 18 and a dental learning event with toothbrushes and books will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at the library by Smile Doctor from Brownwood.
Currently, the library is asking everyone who has been collecting items for the Back to School Fair set Saturday, July 27 to return them to the library so organization may begin. Supplies needed include toiletries, new or slightly used makeup bags and backpacks. The Library is located at 206 W. Blackjack. Is is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
