Your life is not random

Body

Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

In the tale of Alice in Wonderland, a conversation takes place between Alice and the Cheshire Cat. Alice asked, “Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here?”

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the cat.

“I don’t much care where,” said Alice.

“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” replied the cat.

Your life is not random it’s intentional. If you acknowledge God in this adventure called life then he will direct your footsteps. Unlike the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, when you seek God’s guidance, he will point you in the right direction. If you acknowledge God in all your ways you can be confident that he will lead you according to his divine plan for your life. He knows the plans he has for you and his plans are intentional, not random.

In contrast to Alice, you and I are exhorted to seek the purposes of God. We seek God through his word, the Holy Bible, and in prayer. We are told that God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. God’s word is unambiguous, it will guide your footsteps with clarity. However, Scripture does not stand alone, it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, prayer is an essential ingredient in seeking God’s direction in life. So, pray before you read the Bible then read the Bible, and then pray again after you have read that the Holy Spirit will intentionally direct where you ought to go from here.

God-tracking is intentional. It’s all in the Bible. Read about it! Get into the word of God and get the word of God into you!
