Band Members advance to State

Ten Dublin High School band members headed to state competition following the performance of 12 at February’s Regional Solo and Ensemble Contest in Stephenville. Yantis Honored

The Woman’s Thursday Club accepted a state resolution honoring lifelong Dublin supporter and Museum pillar Mary Yantis in a meeting that featured a history of the Little Church on Grafton that Yantis prepared while she was alive. The resolution was also presented by Dublin Historical Society President/City Council member Ben Pate during the Council meeting March 9.

Dublin passes-COVID disaster declaration

City of Dublin department heads met March 13 to discuss how to address growing concerns to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency that was declared at both the state and national levels. A Declaration of Emergency was drafted (visible on the water department door) and would be re-visited every seven days. These declarations were followed by a statewide Shelter in Place order at the beginning of April.

DISD provides meals at home

Dublin ISD staff began delivering breakfast and lunch to sites around Dublin so students could be guaranteed a good meal while the district’s break continued due to the COVID-19 epidemic. these meals were packed by district staff and administration and delivered along with instruction packets throughout the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

First Responders help make birthdays special

City first responders and employees hosted mini-parades every Wednesday for Dublin children whose birthday plans were halted by the social distancing and shelter in place orders announced to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

EDC offers aid to Dublin businesses

Dublin Economic Development Corporation members and Executive Director Karen Wright met for their April meeting in chairs set six feet apart to observe social distancing guidelines. The group approved an emergency grant program that offers up to $2,000 for Dublin businesses to help pay expenses like rent and utilities for the months of March and April.
