Oct. 22, 1970

Erath County Sportsman’s Club announced a Duck Hunt to be held on Dec. 5 and 6th. The registration fee was five dollars and included two days of hunting, services of a guide, a barbeque dinner and chances to win door prizes. Individuals wanting to participate were encouraged to send in their reservations early and their registration fees be sent before the cutoff date of Nov. 28.

A photo of Red Pendleton was accompanied by an article celebrating his 35 years as Mr. Telephone. Pendleton described as always wearing colorful western shirts and cowboy hat while driving around town in a Sprint/United Telephone van and waving to familiar faces. Pendleton spent more than three decades working as a communications technician in the area.
