The Majestic was playing several films. The Dolly Sisters played on Friday and featured Betty Grable, John Payne and June Havor; Saturday’s Matinee and Night show was The Daltons Ride Again starring Alan Curtis, Lon Chaney, Maureen O’Driscoll; Too Young to Know played on Sunday and Monday starring Joan Leslie and Robert Hutton; Tuesday and Wednesday was a double feature of Swingin’ on a Rainbow and The Trail of Kit Carson; And There Were None played on Thursday and Friday and starred Barry Fitzgerald, Walter Huston and Louis Hayward.

January 7, 1971

The Dublin Progress featured a small story and an ad announcing the sale of Roy Yantis & Co. Hardware and Auto Parts. The couple, Roy and Ruth Yantis sold to Orval Payne, a long time associate, so they could enjoy their retirement. The ad reminded customers that the store would continue to be run by Payne. Roy and Ruth thanked everyone for their patronage for the past 25 years.

Two photos featured the snow that fell over Dublin. One photo showed Waldon Jensen scraping snow off a car’s windshield. He explained that his hometown of Grand Forks, North Dakota had received 18 inches of snow while Jensen was visiting his brother, Winston F. Jensen, in Dublin. The second photo is of a stop sign covered in snow with the word “BRR!” written in the snow.
