The Dublin Manufacturing Company, now in its final pre-opening preparations, is scheduled to begin operations very soon, possibly next Monday, according to Mrs. J.C. Deaton, manager.
Mrs. Deaton is accepting applications Thursday and Friday of this week for positions, but said that women have been calling to apply since she first arrived more than a week ago. She stated that she will only use women workers and has had to turn away several men applicants.
Located in the new Hoffman building on Patrick street, the factory is 25 feet by 92 feet, with a new 25 by 25 warehouse built on at the back.

Seven bids were received by the city of Dublin on the purchase of a new police car. Bids were read to the council members present at the meeting Tuesday night at City Hall. Bids were as follows. 1973 Ford 4 Door Custom $3,400. ’73 Plymouth Fury 4 Dr. $3.175. ’73 Chevy, 4 Dr Bel Air $3,134. ’73 Chevy, 4 Dr Bel Air $3,112.94. ’73 Ford 4 Dr. Custom $3,100. ’73 Chevy 4 dr. Bel Air $3,080. ‘ 73 Plymouth Fury 4 Dr. $2,895. The council voted to buy the low car bid of $2,895 1973 Plymouth from Hico.
