Jan. 1

A reporting person in the 200 block of East Clinton advised her neighbor’s dog came over into her yard and killed her dog. Dogs were taken in for further investigation until owner was able to speak with someone. Animal control was made aware of the situation.

A caller advised they heard a loud noise in the 300 block of North Camden and requested an officer to check it out. An officer made scene and talked to neighbors. Officer did not locate anything and kept a close patrol. Jan. 3 A mental health check was completed and everything was OK.

Jan. 4

A reporting person in the 100 block of North Patrick requested a close patrol.

A disturbance was reported in the 300 block of North Camden. Parties agreed to separate into different rooms.

Jan. 5

A reporting person bought a trailer and when they took it to the tax office the VIN was not coming back correctly. Officer checked the VIN and it did not match what was on the title. Caller was advised to go to the Abilene office to fix the issue.

Officers responded to a welfare concern of selfharm.

Jan. 6

There was a report of a dog out by the high school. Officer was unable to locate.

Jan. 7

A reporting person in the 200 block of East Blackjack stated someone tried to pick up her daughter at the house while she was outside playing. A Black Cadillac car came by, opened the door and they took off after she started screaming. Close patrol will be conducted daily at the residence and around the area. Officers will also be on the lookout for that vehicle around the city.

A reporting person stated he loaned out his truck to someone in Fort Worth and they won’t bring it back. An officer spoke with the caller with reporting person and they stated that they met online, and he let her take it to DFW, has not had contact with her since. He was advised to call or text the subject and inform her that a report was made.

There are reports of power lines that fell across the road way on East Liveoak and Davies. Oncor was contacted, made the scene and advised it was not one of their lines. Possible internet/telephone lines.

A person stopped in the station to speak to an officer about a vehicle accident that occurred on the 7th and they exchanged information to get the estimate of the damages. Law enforcement was not called to the scene and now the other party is hiring an outside adjuster to look at the damages. Reporting party just wanted to make notification to law enforcement on the matter. The person was advised to call his insurance.

Officers met with a caller about a person using a Gmail account that was requesting photos of a minor and that photos were exchanged through phone and online.

Jan. 9

There was a report of 30 sheep out on Hwy. 6 and Hwy. 377 Loop. Owner was contacted and sheep were secured.

There was a report of power lines tangled in a tree. An officer made scene, they were telephone wires.

Officer out at the school on Thomas Street doing a building check. All doors were secured.

Jan. 10

A reporting person with Wells Fargo Bank requested a call back from an officer regarding a fraud case that was worked in 2021.

A reporting person at Big’s gas station requested an officer to come to the store for someone drinking on the premises.

Jan. 11

A verbal domestic disturbance took place. Parties agreed to separate for the night.

A CPS investigation took place.

A person in the station stated they had relapsed on alcohol and wanted to get help.

A person wanted information on how to surrender two dogs because they can’t take care of them. Animal Control information was given.

Two domestic disturbances occurred overnight in the 300 block of North Camden.

Jan. 12

A person was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

A custody dispute was investigated.

A person stated his son took his truck and there was no insurance on it. Officer spoke to all parties and advised them it would be a civil matter, and the officer informed them of their options.

A person requested a welfare check on his wife due to chest pain earlier in the day. EMS was dispatched and she was transported to the hospital.

Jan. 13

There was a 911 hangup call in the 500 block of North Grafton. A child accidentally called 911, everything was OK.

Jan. 14

A subject reported a sexual assault. The report is under investigation.

There was a report of goats out by Cain’s Pool Supply.
