Four new members have joined the Texas Health Community Impact Southern Leadership Council to help Texas Health strategically invest in collaborative efforts to address needs of Erath and Johnson County residents.
The new members representing Erath County are Renee Goodwin, Director of Assessment and Accountability for Stephenville ISD, and Jim Ed Haile, a relator with Ebby Halliday. The new members representing Johnson County are Lisa Boultinghouse, CEO/ Founder of the Center for ASD, and April Snyder, Pastor for Discipleship at the Keene Church of Seventh-day Adventists.
The 20-member Texas Health Community Impact Southern Leadership Council is one of five unique regional councils that Texas Health relies on for guidance and oversight in awarding cross-sector collaborative Texas Health Community Impact grants to address local needs in innovative ways.
“Compromised of community leaders, the Councils develop a strategy that best suits their regions’ needs while also aligning with Texas Health’s Mission of improving the health of the people in the communities we serve,” said Mandy Forbus, Community Health Improvement Director for the Southern Region. “After releasing a request for grant proposals, the Councils vote to select the winning application or applications that best reflect the strategy and meet the requirements of a Texas Health Community Impact grant.”
In 2023, Texas Health awarded an almost $1.5 million grant to CNM (Center for Nonprofit Management) to build capacity and develop collaborations in Erath, Johnson and Kaufman Counties, and develop a deeper understanding of the needs in the communities to maximize the impact of future Texas Health Community Impact grants.
Council members serve a two-year term and are eligible to serve one additional term if appointed.
