Halloween is right around the corner and Dublin has some spooky events to offer fun for ghosts, goblins and just everyday ghouls looking for a spooktacular time.
The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge No. 2834 will be hosting a Trunk or Treat from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at Celebration Park, 198 E. Elm Street in Dublin.
To enter a “trunk,” cost is $10 per car and proceeds go to benefit the Elks Children’s Camp.
“We really want this to be a great event and fundraiser for the Elk’s Children Camp,” organizer Brittany Hudson Hallock said. “We thought it would be a fun way to host a community event and raise funds for a great cause.”
There will also be a best trunk contest along with several other prizes.
For those unfamiliar with a “Trunk or Treat” vehicles trunks or beds if they are trucks are decorated and then used to hand out candy and treats from.
To enter, text 254-396-3114 oremailelkssweetheart2834@gmail.com.
Everyone is welcome to come, collect candy at the event and show off their costumes, organizers said.
In partnership with the Elk’s Lodge, Grafton Market will be hosting an after-party dance at Grafton Center starting at 8 p.m. Oct. 29. Admission is $2 per person and all ages are welcome.
Safe Trick or Treat hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. downtown on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31.
The event will have businesses handing out candy and treats (with maybe a few tricks) during the event, allowing eager trick-ortreaters to gather up the most candy both from the businesses and regular trick- or-treating throughout the city.
Any businesses that are not downtown can still participate! Simply show up to the chamber office before the start of the event and a spot downtown will be offered alongside a neighborly downtown business such as in front of Grafton Market or near the Corner Lot.
There will also be a costume contest hosted by the Dublin Citizen.
To enter, send a picture of the person in costume to composing@dublincitizen.com from Friday, Oct. 28 through Monday, Oct. 31. Winners will receive $25 in Dublin Dollars.
General community trick-or-treating will also be held Monday, Oct. 31 on Halloween.
