Genealogy aficionados are invited to the W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center for a genealogy discussion with Dr. Deborah Liles at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20.
Dr. Liles teaches the history of Texas, local communities, the United States, women, ranching and slavery. She is the author or editor of several award-winning books and articles, and she serves on the boards of history associations throughout the state.
Topics will include schedules from census reports, property tax records, deeds, probate records, and bills of sale. A question-and-answer session will follow. Attendees may bring their research for tips on how to make any exploration more rewarding.
Museum doors open at 1 p.m., and admission is free.
