Dublin Municipal Airport invites aviation fans and newcomers alike to the second annual Light Sport Fly-in, featuring flights and food starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

For those unfamiliar with the designation, light sport craft are more economical vehicles weighing 1,320 pounds or less.

This year will also feature the inclusion of ultralight aircraft as par of the World Ultralight Fly-In. Ultralight craft are planes that weigh 254 pounds or less.

Premieres are nothing new to the Dublin Airport, which was the first Texas site to offer unleaded Swift Aviation fuel- a product which site manager Brad Stanford reports is bringing more consistent traffic as time goes on.

The event will feature a variety of aircraft for the public to peruse, as well as lunch from Swig’s BBQ in Comanche in the afternoon.

Stanford encourages everyone interested to attend, saying that pilots and aviation fans love to share their information. For more info, visit dublinaero.com.
