The Dublin Economic Development Corporation held a brief meeting Tuesday, April 25 to deal with a slew of agenda items.

The EDC board was happy to report they are now officially moved over to their new home at Blackjack Office Center in downtown Dublin.

Several agenda items were tabled until Executive Director Penny Corona returned. Former EDC Executive Director Karen Wright was helping the board in Corona’s absence. She is recovering from back surgery and expected to return to work in about three weeks, Wright reported.

The board tabled acting on new shamrock signs that will be displayed for grant recipients and a website redesign.

The board approved a commercial grant application for the Lucky Find, an antique store that is set to open in the future.

The $5,000 grant was approved for the removal of an old awning, support post and installation of a new awning.

The board also received an update on a potential sidewalk project between them and the city.

The sidewalk on Blackjack Street in front of Blackjack Coffee and the next block from Rusty Rose to the Ben Hogan Museum is set to be replaced. The city is currently undergoing research and planning for the project. The EDC will be kicking in a portion of funds for the project.
