EDC approves grants

The Dublin Economic Development Corporation recently approved a slew of grants for business improvements at its Tuesday, Sept. 26 meeting.

After a previously tabled item to get invoices, Dublin Bottling Works received a $7,500 Commercial Building Improvement Grant to help reimburse them for redoing the huge billboard in downtown Dublin located next to Blessings.

“The sign looks so good,” EDC Director Penny Corona said.

Dublin Dance and Defense was also the recipient of a $7,500 Commercial Building Improvement Grant for their new exterior sign that looks like an old timey movie sign with round lights.

Both Southern Sass and Lucky Nutrition were recipients of grants - $1,784 for Southern Sass and $2,446 for Lucky Nutrition. The grants were awarded for the remodelof thenewdowntown combined business including relocating water and placing counters and cabinets.

A $7,500 Commercial Building Improvement Grant was awarded to Hound Town Grooming Spaw for major renovations with sheetrock and plumbing.

TyreAid LLC received a Commercial Building Improvement Grant for $2,593.75.

The EDC also renewed signs under the TxDOT Logo Renewal Program for the Ben Hogan Museum, Dublin Historical Society and the Rodeo Heritage Museum regarding signage on the loop that directs traffic from both directions into downtown for all three museums.
