The Dublin ISD School Board met for a regular meeting Monday and discussed several agenda items including Dr. Schneider’s upcoming Superintendent Evaluation and future construction projects.

The Board discussed the possibility of constructing tennis courts to add to the growing amount of updated facilities. Many board members complimented the new football field and Coach Cervetto credited the facility in helping secure more athletic events and making Dublin a destination and growth to the community. The Board also discussed the need to update the Elementary school’s gym and possibly constructing a band hall.

The Board approved a one time Efficiency payment of $2000 for some professional staff and $750 for non professional staff. The board decided to revisit the efficiency payment nearer to the school year’s end to reward some staff for their hard work.

The Board approved the memorandum presented to Dublin ISD from Tarleton about the Distinguished High School Partnership Program. Tarleton is offering automatic admission for students in the top four percent of their class and scholarship options are offered to students in the top ten percent.

The Board approved to begin the process to sell property located at 309 E. College St. Dr. Schneider pointed out there may need to be some repairs made to the building before the sale.

The Board discussed and tabled the Multi-Hazard operations plan, claiming it needed to be more comprehensive before its approval.

While discussing future meetings, the board addressed what to do if another shut down were to occur due to COVID-19. All attending the meeting expressed that they supported the board decision not to shut down and that doing so would cause irreparable harm to students.
