Several Christmas events are on tap for Dec. 2 including this year’s annual lighted Christmas parade hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s theme is a cowboy Christmas and those interested in participating are encouraged to use Christmas lights to decorate their vehicles in the parade, which will start at 6 p.m. and travel downtown through the normal Dublin parade route.
Registration for the parade is free and can be completed on the Dublin Chamber’s website and Facebook page. Line-up will start at 5 p.m. at the old football stadium on North Post Oak.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lilly G Productions will present Cowboy Santa Christmas at Doublin’ In in downtown Dublin (110 E. Elm Street).
Those wanting to be vendors, can do so for the cost of one new, unwrapped toy. Contact 254-459-0141 for more information on becoming a vendor for the event.
During the event there will be a drawing every hour for a free ham and turkey (must be present to win), along with a drawing for a boys and girls bicycle.
There will also be photos with Santa, live music and more. The Dublin Rodeo Heritage Association will be presenting a coffee and cocoa bar.
Those wanting to embrace the spirit of Christmas while enjoying a great ride on their motorcycles are invited to participate in this year’s Toy Ride.
This year’s ride is set for Saturday, Dec. 2 with registration starting at 2 p.m. at Red Barrel Bar and Grill.
Participation is $20 per car or bike along with a new unwrapped toy. Proceeds are benefitting the Double N Cowboy Church Angel Tree. Those who just wish to donate toys can drop them off either at Red Barrel starting at 2 p.m. or at the church starting at 3:30 p.m.
The “parade” will travel, along with the donated toys, from Red Barrel to Double N Cowboy Church, departing at 3 p.m.
Starting at 3:30 p.m. there will be a chili dinner for $10 per plate at the church.
“We are just trying to give back to the community,” Mike Pruitt, with Servant Souls and founder of the Rylan Strong Network, said. “We are also trying to change the negative stereotypes surrounding bikers.”
Sponsors for the event include Servant Souls, Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Rylan Strong Network, TMRA Area F, Kirkland’s Barber Shop and Double N Cowboy Church.
