Erath County officials reported 30 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday night (Oct. 19). Seventeen of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville, four were residents of Dublin and nine were rural residents of the county.

Total COVID-19 cases increased by 83 (881 to 817) in the week from the Oct. 12 update to Monday night’s report, while active cases increased by 15 standing at 132 on Oct. 12 and 147 a week later.

Recovered cases were reported at 812 on Monday, up from 744 from the week before.

Reported deaths in patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 since March have remained at five. Hospitalizations since March rose from 25 to 36 in the past week.

County officials remind residents that according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there are things everyone can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

Wear a face covering in public

Stay six feet apart

Wash or sanitize hands often

If sick, get tested and stay at home

Stay home when possible
