More than 40 local businesses and residents will be offering up treasures this weekend as the City-Wide Garage Sale returns May 2728. The annual feature will give Dubliners a chance to sell some unneeded items before the Dublin Cleanup returns on June 3.
Dublin residents signing up for the garage sale will not have to pay the use permit fee. (Residents can still have a garage sale even if they are not on the map.) Those wishing to register for the garage sale can call city hall at (254) 445-3331 during office hours (Monday –Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.).
The Dublin Clean Up will follow on Saturday, June 3 from 8 a.m. to noon, offering residents the opportunity to get rid of garage sale leftovers and other unneeded items. Plans are to once again allow drop off in the 100 block of North Park Street next to the library. (Those who are incapable of hauling their own items can call (254) 445-3331 by Tuesday, May 30 to arrange the pickup of items that morning.)
Items being accepted include televisions and CRT monitors and TVs (screens must be broken out), VCRs, DVD players, video game systems, cameras, sound systems, microwaves and appliances, as well as waste resulting from domestic operations such as household refuse, yard refuse, automotive parts, broken machinery and furniture.
Items that can’t be taken include chemicals, paint, bulbs, alkaline batteries, gasoline, oils, brush, freon items, tires and tire rims.
Volunteers are needed to help make this a successful event. This includes trucks and trailers with drivers 18 years or older, people to work at the collection site and people to help pick up items from homes on the pickup list.
Volunteers can sign up by calling 445-3331 or 254-967-1327. For their assistance, all volunteers will be provided with a free brisket lunch at the City Park following the event.
