The Comanche Chief In a recent meeting, the Texas Historical Commission voted to award Texas Historic Court-house Preservation Program funding to Comanche County for the development of architectural plans and specifications for the Comanche County courthouse.

Col. James now brigade commander

Colonel Jeremy W. James, a 1993 Dublin High School graduate, has recently been promoted to the rank of brigade commander. Colonel James’s military career started when he received his commission as an Aviation Officer in 1998 from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Anniversary

Stanley & Betty Anderson Stanley and Betty Anderson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Aug.10. A family gathering was held at Cotton Patch the Sunday before to commemorate the occasion. Happy anniversary!

DHS grad honored

On Saturday, Aug. 6, 2020 Dublin High School graduate Blaize Leatherwood was presented with the Outstanding New Member of the Year Award for all chapters at the Kappa Delta Rho National Convention in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Just Fall Asleep

The Lord has given me a blessing for which I am very thankful (most of the time) but there have been occasions when this blessing has gotten me into a lot of trouble. The blessing I’m referring to is the ability to be able to fall asleep – FAST!

POLICE LOG

There was a report of a male individual in the 800 block of Courtney that came up to the reporting person and asked for a charger and a lighter, then pulled out a meth pipe and began smoking it. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1, under 1 gram.
