Genealogy discussion set at Gordon Museum

Genealogy aficionados are invited to the W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center for a genealogy discussion with Dr. Deborah Liles at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Dr. Liles teaches the history of Texas, local communities, the United States, women, ranching and slavery.

Scarecrows take over Dublin

If you’ve seen a plethora of scarecrows in the community it’s all thanks to those supporting the Dublin Public Library’s Scarecrow fundraiser and contest. More than 15 individuals and businesses entered the event to provide support to the library and to have fun embracing the spirit of fall.

We have received a 20% increase for our Plan F Medicare Supplement that is effective October 1. I am a 70-year-old female in good health, but my husband is undergoing cancer treatment. Also, his cardiologist has advised him that he may need a pacemaker.

Well, it is that time of year again, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. Despite the recent and perhaps ongoing tough times everyone has experienced, we all still have lots to be thankful for and lots to celebrate.

Fishing report

SLOW. Water slightly stained; 73-76 degrees; 7.72 feet low. Bass are excellent to 8.32 pounds using topwater lures early and late in 1-5 feet of water on flats, and square bill crankbaits, shaky heads, and glide baits around docks with brush out to 10 feet of water. Crappie to 1.
