Summer Reading program to end July 22

Citizens better flip their remaining pages in a hurry as the deadline to turn in reading logs for the Dublin Public Library’s Summer Program is this Saturday. All reading logs must be turned in by 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22.

DISD forms Special Ed co-op

Dublin ISD will start the school year with a new special education co-op led by a familiar face, former elementary school principal Kalley Mitchell. The district is forming its own co-op, Southwest Erath County Special Education SSA (Shared Service Arrangement).

Museum Matters

The Gold Star Mothers of Dublin were honored at a special banquet at the American Legion Hall on May 24, 1948. Each of the mothers were given red, white and blue corsages.

Two indicted on child endangerment charges

Madisen Brooke Comstock, 21, and David Alvarez, 38, have both been indicted on the charge of abandoning or endangering a child, a State Jail Felony, after meth was found in a child’s system. Comstock is the mother of the male infant and Alvarez is her boyfriend.

Donations sought for back-to-school drive

Dublin citizens are being asked to help at this year’s annual Back-to- School Fair. The Dublin Public Library will be hosting its Back-to-School Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29 at the library. “I want to thank everyone for their kindness and support for this event.

June 26 The crossing arms were stuck down at the train tracks on East Blackjack. Danny Duarte was arrested for disorderly conduct at Dairy Queen. He allegedly went behind the counter into the kitchen yelling at employees and cursing.

CWJC classes kick off in August

Christian Women’s Job Corporation/ Transformation Pathway will begin their regular training program on Tuesday, August 22. The classes will be each Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and will be seminars on job readiness.
