April 6 event slated

The Dublin Chamber of Commerce has set a Solar Shamrock Festival for Saturday, April 6 as a St. Patrick’s day redux since the chamber’s activities were rained out.There will be an opening ceremony for Dublin Baseball and Softball Association at the City Park from 9-10 a.m., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sales tax receipts down again

Dublin sales tax collections were down again in January 2024 at 9.26% lower compared to January 2023, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.For the month of January, Dublin received $44,923.14, compared to $49,509.62 in January 2023.

Total solar eclipse to bring crowds, impede traffic

Dublin is expected to get one minute and 19 seconds of complete darkness in the solar eclipse occurring Monday, April 8.For those interested in seeing the eclipse, a partial eclipse will begin at 12:19 p.m., totality will occur at 1:28 p.m. and the partial eclipse will end at 2:59 p.m.
